The Franklin is absolutely electrifying! My take on the old EL84 amps from the British Invasion. Sweetness, chime and shimmer, but with plenty of low end. Two EL84 power tubes in Class A, some incredible transformers and a 5AR4 rectifier run this amp from clean to mean with the twist of the volume knob. The controls are simple: Two Inputs, Vol (Preamp Gain), Bass, Treble, Cut and a Master Volume. This Franklin is simple to use and complex in results. Once you get through plugging into the Franklin, you'll wonder why anyone would ever need more than 15-20 watts! But, for those that need more clean headroom, we can add another speaker or run this head into a 4x12. Also, for those of you that are convinced you have to have a 4xEL84 30 watt beast, I offer the Dierdre 30. (see below)  Back panel features an IEC Universal Power Connector socket, fuse and outputs for 4, 8, and 16 ohm speakers.

The Franklin's two tone controls are extremely interactive. If you want strong mids, keep the treble and bass down in the 9-12 o'clock range. Want to scoop those mids, crank the two tone controls up. I do not believe there's a bad tone to be found, no matter the setting. Unlike a lot of Master Volume amps, the Franklin's MV actually works like you expect it to.

Give this amp 30 minutes of your life and you will plan to own it, but truth be told, it will own you
